The research group has six teachers, including two professors and four doctors at present, at the same time there are almost thirty graduate students. The research fields of the group involve the natural product chemistry, pharmacology, drug metabolism, pharmacy, engineering and so on. We mainly utilize the rich younger coal resources (lignite, peat) and medicinal plant resources of Yunnan province for the research of younger coal comprehensive utilization and natural products chemistry, which mainly including the study of humic acid and montan wax chemical composition, refining processing, biological activity and product development; the isolation and identification of active constituents in medicinal plants and its biological activity research.
Baocai Li (group Leader): Professor; mainly engaged in the study of comprehensive utilization of younger coal (brown coal, peat), natural medicine and functional foods.
Shiyun Jiao:Professor; mainly engaged in the study of the pharmacy computer simulation technology
Jing He: Lecturer; mainly engaged in the the study of pharmacological activity and material basis of traditional Chinese medicine.
Weifeng Dai: Lecturer;Research on pharmaceutical preparations and material foundation of traditional Chinese medicine chemistry.
Cheng Xiang: Lecturer; Research on the metabolism of drugs and screening of bioactivity compounds from natural medicine.
Mi Zhang: Lecturer; mainly engaged in the study of chemical composition and activity of Traditional Chinese Medicine and natural medicine.
Our group is committed to the comprehensive utilization of younger coal resources and natural medicine research, especially in the lignite wax product development and humic acid pharmaceutical application, our study ranks the leading domestic level. Now our group is undertaking several foundation items, involving the National Natural Science Foundation of China, National science and technology support project, provincial project and school-enterprise cooperation project. So far, the group members have published more than 100 academic papers, and 20 patents wereapplied, 8 of which have already been authorized. Part of the scientific research achievements have been applied to the actual production. Especially, Esan county in Yunnan province have utilized the series of patent technology, which wereresearched and developed by our group, to built the first poor quality lignite resources comprehensive utilization production line of ?xml:namespace>China. The factory has produced in January 2013, and the quality of lignite wax produced by the factory has reached even more than similar products in Germany.
